Plant Intelligence

In the cultures of many land-connected peoples, plants are considered the wisdom elders of the human being. We have strayed so far from this understanding. Steeped in our own sense of superiority, we lose connection with the immense treasures and knowledge available to us when we humbly open to our plant kin.

I am deeply fortunate to have been a mentee and apprentice of Mama Lynne Whitesides, a medicine woman elder from Utah, who I met in 2023. We had two incredible years of incredible friendship before she left her body in July 2025. I am forever grateful to her wild, brilliant and often hilarious way of being, and her decades-long relationship with many plants that taught me so much about the medicine and healing they offer when the right holding and support is provided.
